Community Spotlight – Payette

Posted on | February 11, 2020

Located in Southwest Idaho and along the Snake River, you’ll find the smallest county by area – Payette County! The county is comprised of three towns: Payette, Fruitland, and New Plymouth.

The city of Payette was originally settled as a railroad camp in the 1860’s and was named “Boomerang.” It wasn’t until 1917 that Payette was officially created and named after Francois Payette, a French-Canadian fur trapper exploring the area.

The Snake River is Payette’s main feature and is a treasure for outdoor enthusiasts, jet skiers, boaters, and fisherman. The Scotch Pines Golf Course has been rated as one of the best in the northwest – and nestled just inside the golf course, you can find the Payette Municipal Airport. The airport’s small-town charm has influenced pilots to dub the airport the “friendliest little airport in the west.”

The town boasts three large festivals throughout the year: Harmon Killebrew Days in April where they celebrate their local league baseball teams; Apple Blossom Festival in May where you can find various performers, contests, and a parade near Central Park; and the Cruise Night and Car Show near the end of August.

Only a three-minute drive from Kiwanis Park and the local Payette swimming pool, you’ll find our wonderful AmeriTitle Payette branch!

Our Payette office is an active team within the Payette community. They’ve hosted a booth in the local Farmer’s Market, held a table at the Realtor Affiliate meeting, and even went so far as to win the Halloween Scarecrow Contest within the Payette Chamber! They’ve also held a Santa’s Last Stop – which had a great turn out! The Payette office “has grown up in the Payette community, and Payette is what home feels like.”
