So – will you take home number one, or home number two – without ever stepping foot on the property?
The anxiety and restlessness when heading to buy a home has begun to ease somewhat – with inventory increasing and home price growth slowing down, the competition isn’t as strong.
What does this mean?
According to Redfin, one in five homebuyers have made an offer on a home without even seeing the home (about 20%) – while this might sound alarming – this number is actually down 35% from a similar survey released in November, where it seems as though homebuyers were consistently placing sight-unseen offers for the past year and a half.
It looks like the real estate market is shifting towards the buyers’ favor, so potential homebuyers are able to take their time and be a little more selective about their offers.
Redfin plans to stay on track with measuring this data – as it clearly shows what kind of market both buyers and sellers are in.
Who knew buying a home could be so exhilarating?
